Staff: Amy Fortune has been fencing for 15 years and has been ranked nationally in the top 10. 1995-96 Duel in the Desert (Las Vegas) - Gold Medal 1996 Division II National Championships - Bronze Medal 1997 Division IA National Championships - Gold Medal 1997 Pacific Coast Championships - Gold Medal 1998-99 Competed in World Cup events in Germany, France, Spain, Belgium, England, and Cuba. 2000 Pacific Coast Team Championships - Gold Medal 2001-2002 Pacific Coast Championships Finalist 2001 US Division I National Championships Finalist 2002 Duel in the Desert, Silver Medal 2003 Duel in the Desert, Bronze Medal Geoff Russell is a USFCA certified coach and has been involved in fencing as a competitor and coach for over 20 years. He has coached his wife Amy Fortune to numerous local, regional, and national titles. 2 time NCAA All-American (Penn State) 1988 Junior Pan American Team (Rio de Janeiro) Junior Olympic Finalist 1990 NCAA Team Champion (Penn State) 1988 & 1989 US Division I National Championship Finalist Mihai Orita comes to us from Romania where he was the Head Coach of the national men's sabre team. His longtime student, M. Covaliu, was the 2000 Olympic Sabre Gold Medalist in Sydney and is the current World Champion. Mihai has a tremendous amount of international experience and is also a world class referee. Derek Cotton has joined the coaching staff at Fortune Fencing. Derek is a USFCA certified coach and an internationally rated referee. He was the only US referee selected to participate at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. Derek will be available for private foil lessons on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
